DAY 3- Santa Apollonia, S. Annunziata, Santa Croce, leather factory...

DAY 3-  I must confess, so much of the trip is a blurred memory!  I'm reviewing both my photographs and the previously mentioned Great Courses Great Artists of the Italian Renaissance in an effort to slow down the swirl of confused memories.  On day 3, Wednesday Nov 5, we walked with Prof Carniani to Cenacolo di Santa Apollonia to admire The Last Supper by Andrea del Castagno1421- 1457, and then to the church of Santissima Annunzia to admire the masterpieces of mannerism.  We then transferred by minibus to Santa Croce where we admired this principal Franciscan church of Florence with its burial place for so many of the most famous Italians and later
the onsite lecture by Prof Carniani on "Florence and its historic handicraft tradition."  After lunch at Fanisterrae restaurant we visited the Scuola del Cuoio- Leather Factory School.
